The Ramen is delicious and the noodles are homemade, which is not common, the sushi is also very tasty. It is a cosy place with a very friendly staff, one of the best in Barcelona.
Amazing place! Food is super fresh and delicious. They have the menu for 9.95 that will fill you for all day! Insane value for money Service is very friendly. Couldn’t recommend it more.
This is great little Japanese style restaurant with all food prepared freshly. The owner is pleasant and helpful. I especially enjoy the fact that there is a vegetarian & vegan option for ramen, sushi and onagiri , which is not always easy to find here in Barcelona. The prices are great and value is unbeatable! Simple nourishing and clean food. I always eat here when I’m in the area.

Nestled in the vibrant Sant Martí district of Barcelona, Need offers an authentic Japanese dining experience that feels both intimate and inviting. From the moment you step inside, the warm hospitality and cozy ambiance make it clear this is a place where food is crafted with care and passion.
The real stars here are the dishes themselves. The homemade noodles in the Ramen Soup of the Day stand out immediately—rich, hearty broths paired with perfectly chewy noodles that remind you of the dedication behind each bowl. Whether you opt for the pork ramen, vegetable ramen, or the chicken variant, the flavors strike a delicate balance between tradition and freshness.
Sushi lovers will find joy in the Salmon MAKI, Hosomaki de Salmón, and the varied sushi platters. The rice is well-prepared, though slightly dense, it complements the fresh fish beautifully. The Onigiri de Cerdo offers a delightful twist on classic rice balls with its tender pork filling, while the Ensalada Wakame adds a refreshing, clean contrast to the meal.
For those seeking something sweet, the Mochi de Coco and Mini Mochi de Mango Helado provide a light and satisfying finish, blending traditional Japanese dessert techniques with tropical flavors. Not to be overlooked, the Yakisoba con Torikatsu delivers comforting stir-fried noodles with crispy chicken, a dish that embodies nourishing simplicity.
Beyond the food, Need stands out for its inclusive offerings—vegetarian and vegan options are thoughtfully incorporated into the ramen, sushi, and onigiri selections, a rarity that speaks to their attention to diverse palates and dietary needs.
What truly enhances the experience is the unbeatable value for money. With options like the three-course meal plus water for around 10 euros and generous portion sizes, Need proves that quality Japanese cuisine can be both accessible and satisfying in Barcelona.
In essence, Need is not just a restaurant—it’s a hidden gem where genuine flavors, fresh ingredients, and friendly service converge. It’s a place I find myself returning to whenever I want a comforting bowl of ramen or perfectly crafted sushi, all within a welcoming atmosphere that feels like a home away from home.
